Pennsylvania's Suicide Prevention Week Kick-Off (9/12)

Join with other Pennsylvanians in raising awareness and promoting suicide prevention. Speakers from national organizations, state officials, and survivors of suicide are slated to speak at the event. An Empty Shoe Memorial will be part of the day's activities. Please bring a pair of new or gently used shoes to be placed on the steps at the Capitol's Rotunda in remembrance of those who have chosen not to stay with us. The empty shoes will give a visible message to demonstrate the devastation that suicide brings to families, friends and communities. Shoes used for this event will be used in future events as part of an Empty Shoe Memorial. Kick-off happens at the Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information contact Tami, 717-772-6870, tawright@state.pa.us.
