Wrightslaw's fall online newsletter provides help to families of children with disabilities for the start of another school year. In this issue of the Special Ed Advocate families can find strategies to resolve problems early, techniques to create positive parent-school relationships, and tips to help their child have a good year. Topics include Protecting Parent-School Relationships, Do's and Don'ts of Parent Advocacy, 9 Ways to Boost Your Child's Attitude, and Give Your Child's Teachers a "Heads Up."
NOTE: Wrightslaw now offers a CD of the same training offered at their on site trainings, like the sold out event in Harrisburg this month. The Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training program includes all the content of the live program. Click here for the program description and costs.
Families can request their school district purchase this CD and accompanying text books as part of its training and support services to families of children with disabilities. Schools are mandated to assist families in understanding their child’s disabilities and rights to a free, appropriate, public, education (FAPE).
