Pennsylvania’s County Mental Health Offices
Community mental health services are administered through county Mental Health/Mental Retardation (MH/MR) program offices. These offices are part of county government and are overseen by a county MH/MR administrator.
Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)
The mission of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is to coordinate state agency response, including the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and Office of Homeland Security, to support county and local governments in the areas of civil defense, disaster mitigation and preparedness, planning, and response to and recovery from man-made or natural disasters.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
The Web site gives detailed information on how to locate family members, what to do in the first 48 hours, information about assistance and rebuilding, and disaster specific information (hurricane, terrorism, winter storm, etc.)

FEMA for Kids
This site was designed with children in mind. It teaches them to be prepared for disasters and prevent disaster damage. There are games to play, stories to read, etc. Children can become a Disaster Action Kid. The site also provides learning tools for parents and teachers.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Provides articles written by government and local agencies on disaster planning, coping with disaster and managing stress during disasters. Articles are geared towards disaster response workers, primary care physicians and parents.
